A SteamDeck configuration for Factorio
Agilepap 9

This configuration consists of 3 action sets: Normal, Combat, and Map. Each has an action layer for alternate bindings (alt normal right, alternate combat, and alternate map). The alternate bindings are active as long as L2 is held. The right joystick controls which action set is active.

The Normal action set is default. As shown to the right, it has two additional layers that affect the directional pad. With no layer applied, the D pad controls zoom. Left alt 1 changes Left and Right to control tile size. Left alt 2 causes the D pad to control entity movement for the Picker Dollies mod.

The Combat action set is a copy of Normal with a few bindings changed to accommodate combat, including a one button "Turret place and load". The D pad only controls zoom.

The Map action set is a copy of Normal. The world map is automatically activated for this set. The D pad only controls zoom.

Notes:

  • Default Factorio bindings are assumed.

  • The right trackpad is set (and sized) to make selections from a 3 row quickbar and a 6 column shortcut bar.

  • The "Place and load turret" function requires you place ammo in slot 9 and turrets in slot 10 of quickbar row 4.

  • When L2 is held, the right trackpad becomes an on screen click menu. Only 3 of possible 16 bindings are defined at this time.

  • When the D pad is in "tile size" mode the quickbar row 9 is moved to the top as a visual cue.

  • When the D pad is in "Picker" mode the quickbar row 0 is moved to the top as a visual cue.

  • A click to the left trackpad brings up the on screen keyboard. Using R2 to dismiss the keyboard is suggested instead of the keyboard icon in the lower right. This will avoid bounce activating something in the shortcut bar.

  • If Map display gets out of sync with the current action set, you may click the right joystick to get things back in sync.
